Andretti Autosport announced today that Tristan Charpentier will drive the team’s fourth Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires entry for three race weekends in 2020. Charpentier will pilot the No. 48 machine for Andretti Autosport for the season opener on the streets of St. Petersburg, at Barber Motorsports Park and again for the road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

“Andretti Autosport is excited to welcome Tristan to our Indy Lights team,” said J-F Thormann, President, Andretti Autosport. “Tristan has tested for us throughout the off season and shown impressive speed. We know he is competitive and that he will be a contender this weekend in St. Petersburg.”

A native of Bethune, France, Charpentier has been behind the wheel since the age of six and raced in multiple formula championships including the French F4 Championship, British F3 Championship and most recently made his Super Formula debut at Suzuka in 2019.

“I am very happy and super excited to be joining a team such as Andretti Autosport,”said Charpentier. “It is a massive opportunity and I am really looking forward to it. I am very grateful that this opportunity has come together. I want to say thank you to all the people that made this possible and to Andretti Autosport.”

Charpentier will join teammates Robert Megennis [No. 27 Andretti Autosport Dallara], Kyle Kirkwood [No. 28 Road to Indy / Cooper Tires / Contractors Club Dallara] and Danial Nielsen Frost [No. 68 DEN-JET Dallara] as the Indy Lights season kicks this weekend with a doubleheader on the streets of downtown St. Petersburg.
