VARX Preview: X Games Austin

 

 

 

“I’m super pumped to come back to Austin for the 2015 X Games. This is where we won gold last year, so there are a lot of expectations to live up to considering how well we ran here last year. I’m going to try and keep a clear mind through the weekend and focus on giving this incredible X Games crowd a good show. I’m stoked to race the SHARK WEEK Beetle out here on this new track, I think it will be a good track for us, but it will also be a super competitive track especially with some different 2014 GRC drivers returning. Even though this race does not count for points, it’s the one race that everyone wants to win so we have to defend our title.”

 

 

“The X Games organizers have completely outdone themselves, the track looks awesome, the facility looks amazing with all the events going on, it’s going to be an incredible weekend in Austin. Being live on ABC is an amazing opportunity for the sport and with X Games blowing up it bigger than ever this year, I can’t wait to see the crowds response. The Beetle will be a great car on this particular track, with the fast straightaways the 2.0 liter engine is going to be awesome. With the bumpy gravel, the suspension will be working great. The Volkswagen Andretti team worked incredibly hard getting the car ready after coming from the insanely tight track in Ft. Lauderdale, so we’re looking forward to some more action this weekend.”
