INDIANAPOLIS AND LONDON (JULY 29, 2023) – The Avalanche Andretti Formula E team is delighted to announce that at the 2023 Hankook London E-Prix, Jake Dennis has secured the ABB FIA Formula E World Driver’s Championship. Heading into Race 1 of the Season finale weekend at his home race, Dennis had a 24-point lead over Envision Racing’s Nick Cassidy. Through a nerve-packed race, Dennis came away with a podium finish in second place, earning points enough to claim the Driver’s title.

The title marks a pinnacle moment in the Avalanche Andretti Formula E team’s history, as Dennis becomes the first driver of the American outfit to win a World Driver’s Championship as well as the first British driver to do so in the all-electric Formula E series. Racing in front of a sell-out home crowd in London, the E-Prix was also the first time since 1985 in Formula 1 at Brands Hatch that the United Kingdom hosted a deciding race of an FIA-sanctioned single-seater World Championship.

Throughout the season Jake Dennis has demonstrated sheer brilliance on the track, displaying his skill, determination, and passion, breaking multiple records in Formula E. His performances have been nothing short of awe-inspiring, showcasing the combined proficiency of the Avalanche Andretti Formula E team and the efficiency of the Porsche powertrain.

JAKE DENNIS, ABB FIA FORMULA E SEASON 9 WORLD CHAMPION, AVALANCHE ANDRETTI FORMULA E, SAID:
“I am at a loss for words. This means so much to me – to the team. That (race) had everything thrown at us. Honestly, it felt like everyone was racing against us. But we’ve just became World Champion, and I am so, so happy for myself and for the team. Everyone deserved this so much. I only joined this championship three years ago, and we almost won our Rookie year and now to come back and have the year we’ve had and break all the podium records. To become world champion is just mind blowing. Full credit to my boys – I love them so much. They’ve given me an absolute rocketship all year and this is the least I can do for them.”
