The DW-12, designed and produced by Italian manufacturer Dallara, is the chassis that is used by every participant in the Verizon IndyCar Series. Made of carbon fiber, Kevlar and other composites, the monocoque contains the cockpit (where the driver sits), fuel cell and front suspension. The engine is a stressed member of the chassis with the rear assembly containing the bellhousing, gearbox and rear suspension. The road/short oval/street construction weighs approximately 1,575 pounds while the superspeedway composition weighs around 1,545 pounds.Learn more
Firestone has been a supplier of tires for IndyCar since 1996 and has been the sole tire supplier since 2000. As of December 2012, IndyCar and Firestone signed a contract extension that will see the partnership in place through 2018. Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires is the final step of the Mazda Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires - a progression of series leading to the Verizon IndyCar Series (the AAA series of the minors to IndyCar as the majors in baseball terms). Each year, the Indy Lights champion is awarded a scholarship to use toward IndyCar which guarantees competing in three races including the Indianapolis 500 the following season. The season is a blend of five road courses, two street circuits and three ovals with six doubleheader rounds. All events are in support of the Verizon IndyCar Series with the crown jewel of the season being the Freedom 100 which occurs on Carb Day in May on the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval.Learn more
A 2.0-liter turbocharged Mazda MZR-R (developed in conjunction with AER) produces 450 HP with 50 HP push-to-pass high-speed overtaking. The new Mazda engine is capable of running the full season without a rebuild.
The Dallara IL-15 was a new chassis for the 2015 season and features a single-seat, open-wheel chassis similar to the DW-12, also produced by Dallara, which is used in the Verizon IndyCar Series. The new IL-15 features paddle shifters and push-to-pass.

For Season 3 Andretti Technologies provides the complete electric powertrain including the rear suspension, software and electronics. The electric motor is linked to a three-speed paddle-shift sequential transmission developed by ATEC and manufactured by Hewland. The battery is supplied by Williams Advanced Engineering which is capable of producing up to 200kW.
The chassis, brakes, steering and front suspension are provided by Spark Racing Technology with the monocoque made from carbon fiber and aluminum constructed in association with Dallara. Being super lightweight and incredibly strong, the FIA has crash-tested it to the same standards of those in place for Formula One.
Michelin, the Official Tire Partner of Formula E, has developed a bespoke 18-inch treaded tire unique to the series. Entrants use the same tire in both the wet and dry conditions and the tires are durable enough to last an entire race.Learn more
